EDMOND, Okla. (May 4, 2012) – The Armstrong International Cultural Foundation will celebrate its 15th season of performing arts excellence at Armstrong Auditorium with a diverse lineup of world-class entertainment.

The 2012-2013 Performing Arts Series will premiere on Nov. 1 with GRAMMY-winning baritone Nathan Gunn. Following Gunn is saxophonist and National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master Branford Marsalis with his quartet on Nov. 15.

The Russian National Ballet Theatre kicks off 2013 with a two-night special featuring Cinderella on Jan. 28 and Romeo and Juliet and Chopiniana on Jan. 29.

Other season performances include rising piano star Alexander Schimpf, the Band of the Scots Guard with the Pipes and Drums of the Black Watch, China’s National Symphony Orchestra, three-time national champion fiddler and Oklahoma-native Byron Berline and his band, and the Assad Brothers Guitar Duo with clarinetist Paquita D’Rivera.

The season concludes in April 2013 with the famed Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet.

“The caliber of performers in our series is only matched by this magnificent venue,” said house manager and marketing director Shane Granger. “With elegant décor and amenities, the palatial Armstrong Auditorium is a concert-goer’s dream.”

The 823-seat auditorium is adorned with more than a dozen Swarovski-trimmed chandeliers, seven-foot Baccarat crystal candelabra commissioned by the Shah of Iran, American cherry wood veneers, Spanish marble and Persian onyx. The concert hall features two Steinway concert-grand pianos that were hand-selected and imported from Hamburg, Germany.

“Subscriptions to experience this incredible series go on sale June 1 with prices as low as $198,” Granger said. “Our season ticket subscription package to all 10 events provides the best savings. For those seeking more options, our unique FlexPass subscription plan allows patrons to choose five or more events at a reduced rate. Individual event tickets go on sale July 1 with prices as low as $20,” Granger said.
