Featuring music students of Herbert W. Armstrong College, Imperial Academy of Edmond and the Armstrong Chamber Choir

Armstrong Auditorium is pleased to host the Fall Honors Recital for the music programs of both Herbert W. Armstrong College and Imperial Academy. The recitals will feature select soloists and a chamber ensemble from both schools, as well as a variety of repertoire from the newly formed Armstrong Chamber Choir, the Armstrong Youth Orchestra, the Armstrong Youth Chorus and the Imperial Choraliers.

This performance marks the debut of the campus’s new, elite chamber choir: The 27-member ensemble will perform a variety of unaccompanied masterpieces by Orlando di Lasso, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Eric Whitacre, Carl Staplin and John Rutter. The 38-member orchestra will perform an arrangement of two movements from Handel’s Music For the Royal Fireworks, as well as the “Mazurka” from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. The elementary choir (the Imperial Choraliers) plus the 31-strong Armstrong Youth Chorus will sing a variety of choral works — including a delightful arrangement ELO’s famous hit, “Mr. Blue Sky.”
