Water Music

Orpheus Chamber Orchestra presents Water Music—a sparkling celebration of orchestral elegance and vitality, featuring the radiant British pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason in Mozart’s final piano concerto. This Grammy-winning ensemble, celebrated for its collaborative spirit, crystalline precision, and dynamic interpretations, pairs the buoyant splendor of George Frideric Handel’s Water Music with the profound lyricism and subtle emotional depth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-flat major, K. 595—his last work in the genre, completed in 1791, the year of his death.

Performed without a conductor, the Orpheus musicians’ intimate dialogue with the soloist infuses the music with immediacy, warmth, and shared inspiration—creating a seamless flow from Handel’s regal exuberance to Mozart’s tender farewell. This uplifting program of light, brilliance, and profound beauty promises an unforgettable evening of orchestral harmony and pianistic grace, leaving audiences refreshed and deeply moved.
