Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, two of the most evocative works in classical music, are paired in this all-Russian program featuring violinist Pavel Milyukov. Direct from Krasnoyarsk, Russia, the Siberian State Symphony Orchestra embarks on an 8-week U.S. tour commencing in January 2020, under the direction of its Artistic Director Vladimir Lande. Founded in 1977, the orchestra quickly won a reputation as one of the best orchestras from Russia and since 2015, under Maestro Lande’s direction, has received critical acclaim for numerous recordings with Naxos.
“The concert left me with an amazing aftertaste, which is difficult to convey or describe. But what is certain, is the everyone’s unanimous desire to hear Maestro Lande [and] his magnificent orchestra ... again and as soon as possible.
